Review: It Starts With Us (It Ends With Us, #2) by Colleen Hoover

Goodreads rating: 3.86/4

My rating: 3/4

It Starts With Us follows the lives of Atlas and Lily post Lily's divorce to Ryle and the birth of her daughter Emerson. This book sheds light on abusive relationships and domestic violence.

I read many negative reviews about this book and the one I won't ever forget stated that this was the book that should never have existed. Unfortunately, I have to agree with them. I wanted very much to like this book, especially since I loved the first one. It made me cry and I also enjoyed the movie. I really hope there isn't a part two to the movie because that would be pointless too.

There was no plot twists in this one, other than the little revelation about Atlas' family. I guess Colleen Hoover had to add to Atlas' story, otherwise the story would have just been about how Lily and Atlas end up happily ever after and about how much Ryle hates Atlas.

Even the point at which Ryle confronts Atlas was so boring. The book was generally boring. My curiosity got the best of me with this one. Trust me when I say don't bother reading this one, it is a waste of time.

At least the cover looks pretty, haha!
